The FAA amended 14 CFR 67.401 (Special Issuance of Medical certificates). Paragraph (j) now states that for a pilot who holds a Special Issuance Authorization letter or a Statement of Demonstrated Ability, that letter "...must be in that person's physical possession or readily accessible in the aircraft." The rule was implemented by the FAA Flight Standards Division primarily to be in compliance with ICAO standards. For pilots flying internationally this means that you may be asked to produce your Special Issuance Authorization letter (and any Statement of Demonstrated Ability) in addition to a current medical certificate.
Pilots with questions about this regulatory requirement should call their AME to discuss implications for their personal situation.

Beginning March 2011, FAA aircraft registration certificates have a three-year expiration date. Operators will have to renew certificates based upon the month of expiration. A full chart of the aircraft re-registration schedule can found by clicking here.
Good oral question???????????????????? The FAA has released info relating to the use of the iPad in flight. For part 91 ops, it's no big deal. Here's where you can find the info....... www.faa.gov/other_visit/aviation.../info/all_infos/.../InFO11011.pdf
If we were flying from this area of High pressure to this area of Low pressures, in general, how would the weather change?
(Using a Prog Chart). Show me a Cold front, how about a Warm front. In general, describe the types of weather associated with these type of fronts. If the temp is 8 degrees "C" on the surface, at what altitude will the freezing level be at? I noticed the temp & dew point are within 1 degree and the winds are calm on the latest METAR. What type of weather phenomenom could occure? Making sense of IFR GPS operations Are you training for the instrument rating? You’ll soon find that while there’s no doubt that technology can help us become safer pilots, learning that technology can be a daunting task. When it comes to using your GPS for instrument flight, the middle of a cloud is no place to fumble with making sense of the buttons and which ones you need to push. Let the Air Safety Institute put you on the right path to understanding it all with the GPS for IFR Operations online safety course.
